Laurie Graf

Laurie Graf is the Director and Owner of Center Stage Performing Arts Studio of Quincy, taking over the business from her former teacher, Ms. Frances, after 50 years of building a children’s dance studio on the South Shore of Massachusetts (in Quincy, MA).

Dance & Professional Background

Ms. Laurie has danced since the age of three, and has been dancing and teaching consistently at the Center Stage studio since the age of five.

Ms. Laurie attended the Dance Teachers Club of Boston three year teacher training program where she received the Elsa Heilch Kempe award for overall high score displaying excellence in teaching dance.

Ms. Laurie is an active member of the Dance Teachers Club of Boston.

Ms. Laurie graduated from Stonehill College with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, and from Lesley University with a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology.

Although psychology was her profession, dance remained her passion and she continued to teach at both Total Attraction and other local studios throughout the South Shore such as JM Productions and the Woodward School Dance Team among others.

Over ten years ago, with friend and colleague John McDonald, Ms. Laurie established Children’s Corner, a dance, drama and voice studio in Quincy.

The Children’s Corner program continues to flourish today under John’s direction as they proudly watch their original students making decisions to pursue careers in theatre, as well as leveraging opportunities in the entertainment industry.

Laurie continues to take classes and attend workshops to stay up on the latest trends and styles of dance, in order to provide the highest level of quality dance instruction, while making it as fun and up-to-date as possible.

 

Deanna Aurelio

In the 2017-2018 season, Deanna Aurelio has been on the Center Stage Quincy faculty for ten years and is a well rounded dancer in ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, acro, and modern, having traveled the world dancing in all styles.

Dance & Professional Background

Ms. Deanna trained at the Toronto School of Cirques Arts in Canada. She was in the Pennsylvania Ballet Nutcracker at the age of 6. In 2000 she was part of the USA Tap Dance Team that won a Gold Medal in Germany. She also won the USA Solo Dance Challenge in 2001.

At the age of 19 she went professional and started working for Disney Cruise Line. She was in the character and main-stage performances.

After four years of performing with Disney, Ms. Deanna returned to college to get her Bachelor of Science Degree at Johnson & Wales University.

 

Jacque Churchill

Ms. JacqueMs. Jacque started dancing at the age of 7 at the Jean Paige School of Ballet in Brookline.  After she finished college she returned, was offered a full time position and has never left.  The 2017-2018 season is Ms. Jacque’s 17th year at Center Stage.

Dance & Professional Background

Ms. Jacque is a graduate of the Boston Conservatory of Music with a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts / Dance Major with a Ballet Concentration.

She is a member of the Dance Teachers Club of Boston and has served on numerous committees and held many positions within the organization.

She graduated from the Dance Education Program which was formally known as the Teacher Training Course, winning the Audrey Wilson Award for over-all highest score for both written test and performance.

Just 8 years later she co-chaired the program for DTCB, the youngest member ever to do so.

Continuing Education

Ms. Jacque has been on the Student Workshop Committee, Entrance Examination Committee and has been invited to teach as a master teacher for this and other Dance Organizations in the New England area.

 

Britteny Hyslip

Ms. Britteny HyslipMs. Britteny is a native of Brockton, Massachusetts who grew up studying at a local dance studio, and has been teaching at Center Stage Performing Arts of Quincy, since the 2011-2012 season.

Dance & Professional Background

After high school she expanded her dance knowledge through the Bachelors of Arts in Dance program at Dean College in Franklin MA. Through the school she performed and choreographed for over ten shows, studied several tap, jazz, modern, and ballet techniques, and was trained in various levels of dance composition and improvisation. After graduating in May 2010 Britteny began her performance career which includes a guest performance spot with Fracture Dance Company, as well as a dancer in DJ Maverik’s “All Night” Music Video. Currently Britteny is a core member of Kinetic Synergy Dance Company and performs at festivals and shows all over the New England area.

 

Crystal Lamb

Ms. Crystal moved to Canton from Arizona in 2009 and has been with Center Stage Quincy as an instructor since then.

Dance & Professional Background

She attended Arizona State University on scholarship earning a BFA in dance and a minor in Child Development.  While in college she trained with many well known dance artists and received Honorable Recognition Awards for student choreography and performance.

She trained and performed with School of Ballet Arizona for 8 years and in the Centerdance Modern Dance Professional Company for 3 years.

She has taught many forms of dance including creative movement, modern, jazz, tap, ballet, hip hop and musical theater.  She is also certified in secondary education and worked as a middle/high school lead dance teacher with a program of over 200 students.

Continuing Education

In 2009, Ms. Crystal acquired fitness certifications in Zumba, PiYo (Pilates Yoga) and Turbokick (kickboxing). Crystal’s talents are currently crossing over in both our dance and our fitness program. The 2016-2017 marks Ms. Crystal’s 8th year with Center Stage.

 

Ms. SandySandra Zarotney Keldsen

Ms. Sandy – Sandra Zarotney Keldsen is a Dance and Children’s Yoga Instructor for Center Stage Performing Arts Studio of Quincy, MA. As of the 2017-2018 season, she has been with Center Stage for nine years.

Dance & Professional Background

Sandra Zarotney Keldsen grew up in Connecticut and attended high school as a dance major at the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts.

She went on to complete her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from the Boston Conservatory where she graduated with honors and was a recipient of the Ruth S. Ambrose award for Excellence.

Since graduating from college, Ms. Sandy performed with several Boston area dance companies including Dances by Isadora, and Daniel McCusker & Dancers, and currently directs the Boston division of Dances by Isadora,  a company dedicated to preserving the art and technique of Isadora Duncan.

Past teaching credits include the Topf Center for Dance Education and the Boston Ballet City Dance Program.

Continuing Education

Ms. Sandy continues to take classes and attend workshops to stay up on the latest trends and styles of dance and movement, including becoming certified to teach Children’s Yoga in early 2011, in order to provide the highest level of quality dance instruction, while making it as fun, challenging and up-to-date as possible for young movers from pre-school to high-school.

 

Mariano Figueroa

Mariano joined us as a faculty member for the 2012 – 2013 season developing our boys only hip hop program and taking on our elite level girls hip hop class as well.  Mariano, a native of Brockton, was mainly a self taught hip hop, Krump and break-dancer until beginning his formal training in his teen years.  After training with the Gold School in Brockton, he was hired to teach there, and subsequently at Center Stage.  He has been sharing his enthusiasm and talent with many schools around the state ever since.
